
KAMPALA– The President of Alliance for Natonal Transformation (ANT) retired Gen Mugisha Muntu has on Wednesday, July 23, come out to congratulate Kyadondo East MP and founder of People Power pressure group, Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) group for forming national coordination structures as a roadmap to 2021.
Gen Muntu’s congratulatory statement came on Wednesday evening in a press release. He says ANT recommits themselves to working with liked minded people or group to bring transformation in Uganda.
“The Alliance would like to congratulate Hon. Kyagulanyi and the entire team upon this new step. As we have always pledged, The Alliance recommit to working with People Power along with all like-minded people and groups to bring about the democratic, social and political change our country so desperately needs” the excerpt of Muntu’s message read.
Earlier Wednesday, July 24, Bobi Wine held a function his home in Magere, Kyadondo East in Wakiso District on, Bobi Wine to unveil the national coordination structure of the pressure group.
During the event, he said the unveiling of the team is a testimony that People Power is a very organized group that can take the leadership of the country.
The list unveiled on Wednesday includes several MPs from the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and the ruling NRM. None-the-less, Bobi Wine noted that since People Power is not a political party, anyone is free to join him from other parties.
“I must assert that People Power is not a political party. It’s a movement that unites change seeking forces. We don’t care about your tribe or religion. And indeed we don’t care about your political affiliation,” the Kyadondo East MP said.
