KAMPALA – The National Unity Platform (NUP) party headed by Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine on Tuesday launched membership cards.
Speaking at the function at the People Power offices in Kamwokya, Kampala, Bobi Wine said that in the coming days, the party will be opening up offices nationwide.
He lashed out at the party detractors whom he said will soon swallow their words.
“Others went to the extent of advising us to get a centre number since the 2021 elections are seen as a democratic examination. It is my pleasure to re-announce to them that yes, we have a centre number and we have a home. The National Unity Platform,” Bobi Wine said.
He said despite having NUP, People Power has not been abandoned.
” It only took three weeks for our voter in Kyadondo East to understand that Kyagulanyi was the registered version of Bobi Wine. I want to assure you that four months will be enough to tell our people that NUP is the registered version of People Power,” he explained.
Dr. Lina Zedriga, the People Power principal’s deputy, said the party cards will cost Shs1,000 each, adding that NUP will soon be announcing its leadership in a few weeks to come.
Dr. Zedriga announced their mission statement will be, “To rally the people of Uganda to exercise their power and build a free, united, and prosperous and Democratic Uganda.”
