KAMPALA – As Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) makes preparations ahead of the 2021 polls, several party members have taken the initiative to contest for various political positions in their different localities.
Among these is the UPC National Chairman’s wife Florence Akello Okae, running for Local Council (LC) 5 Woman Councilor, Awaliwal sub-county.
Lawrence Okae Engirot’s wife has been eyeing the LC 5 seat since 2016 when she first contested for the seat but lost to her competitor, emerging second in the 2016 general elections.
Besides her ambition to run as LC 5 Woman Councilor, Awaliwal Sub – county, she has served in the Party as the Soroti District Chairperson from 2011 to date.
With her ambition, persistence and heart to serve, there is hope that Florence Akello Okae will make it the LC 5 Woman Councilor, Awaliwal Sub – county seat come the 2021 polls.
