
TORORO – The former legal counsel at State House Mr. Fox Odoi-Oywelowo has been declared winner of the West Budama North East Constituency NRM flag.
West Budama North East was one of the 46 counties created in July and approved by parliament.
Mr. Odoi garnered 17,803 votes in the peaceful election, against Dennis Ogandi who got 5,383 votes.
Another contender Robert Onyango 1,413 votes.
Mr. Odoi served as MP for West Budama Central in the 9th Parliament.
Now with the approval of the 46 new Counties, and an earlier approval of 10 new cities that came into effect on July 1, 2020, the 11th Parliament will expand to a total of 497 elective seats of which 353 are direct elected MPs, while 144 are Women MPs representing districts.
In West Budama Central, Jacob Oboth Oboth garnered 22,047 votes making him the winner against Geoffrey Okoth and Alice Opondo who scooped 1769 votes and 64 votes respectively.
The Tororo Woman MP seat was won by Ayo Jacinta as she attained 54,156 votes followed by Kigen Aidah with 4682.
Other contenders in the race Sarah Achieng got 26,528, Phibby Ataala with 21,567 and Jesca Dambio who came last with 1,694 votes.
