KAMPALA – Rubaga South Member of Parliament Kato Lubwama is a viciously honest politician and he will speak his mind any time anywhere.
According to the veteran radio personality and comedian, politics is all about sharing the country’s cake. However, he believes in Uganda it has gone overboard as many political players have turned into swindlers.
While appearing on a local television, he cemented his earlier statements saying all politicians including him don’t want to leave political offices because it pays well.
“We are all in politics for money. It’s a profitable business, no one wants to leave, we are like traders,” he said.
The legislator recently gave what seemed as a weird reason for why he was seeking re-election for the Rubaga South MP Seat.
“Last time, I told my people in Rubaga to vote for me so that I can also eat but I’ve finished eating. Now I want them to vote for me so that we eat together this time,” he said.
His statements attracted public outcry but a section of voters applauded him for speaking the truth.
The ‘Dimitiriya’ singer also issued a warning to fellow artists vying for different political offices in the 2021 general elections.
“All artistes who don’t have the art discipline are not going to win any political seat in 2021,” he said.
On Bobi Wine alias Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu specifically, Lubwama said his bid for Uganda’s presidency in 2021 is premature as he has a lot to learn.
“Bobi should have waited for the 2026 general election to challenge for the seat,” he said.
The vocal legislator was previously bedridden for close to four months of battling several illnesses and undergoing several operations.
He has since been going bare knuckles to people who are standing against him for the Rubaga North seat more prominently Singer Khalifa Aganaga alias Mukiibi Sadat ensuring them that he is the biggest shareholder in what he called the Rubaga North Company with others having just 1% shares.
