KAMPALA – The Election Management Committee of the National Unity Platform (NUP) party last evening released the list of the approved ticket holders for the Members of Parliament in the central region of the country.
What caught the attention of most of the people were the big miss outs, prominently Bobi Wine’s elder brother Eddy Yawe who was denied the ticket to represent the people of Kira Municipality in the 11th parliament.
The ticket was handed to former Kira Young Football Club boss Jimmy Lukwago.
CBS FM’s Patrick Mujuuka was also a big miss out on the list as he has been too close to the NUP principal ever since he announced his intentions to stand in Nakifuma. Mujuuka was dropped in favor of Fred Ssimbwa for the Nakifuma Ticket.

Mujuuka has been on ground in Nakifuma spreading the NUP word and this comes as a big surprise to him.
Broadcast journalist Katongole Omutongole who lost in 2016 when he came on the NRM ticket had also opted to return on the NUP ticket and contest for Baale County seat. He has also apparently been denied the ticket in favor of Charles Tebandeke.
Lubega Mukaaku and Mike Mabikke are also some of the other aspirants who have been denied the NUP ticket.
“There are positions whose results were deferred for re-evaluation on account of different reasons. A team supervised by the Deputy President, Central Region is undertaking this task in the next 48 hours,” says the committee.

Today the committee will release a list of candidates for the Eastern region, and subsequently for the Northern and Western regions.
NUP has previously faced the wrath of contenders like Singers Khalifa Aganaga and Jose Chameleone who do not go throughout the vetting. We do not know where this leaves the new party that is getting angry party members upon denial of tickets.
