KAMPALA – The ruling party National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretariat has reveled that they have finalised all the necessary preparations for the nomination of their Presidential flag bearer Yoweri Museveni come this Monday, November 2 at Kyambogo.
Addressing the Media at the Party headquarters on Sunday, the Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba said she will officially present the Party’s Candidate to the independent EC at exactly 10am.
Both the Secretary General and their candidate are expected to travel in a yellow bus – an official symbol for NRM.
“There will be no processions and the public is hereby urged to abide by the EC and the Security guidelines attached to this exercise. Our members are however reminded to don yellow colours from their respective stations and follow the event live on all major media Houses,” Lumumba said.
After being nominated, the Secretary-General said Museveni will launch the Party’s 2021-2026 Manifesto at Speke Resort Hotel Munyonyo starting 12 noon.
She has, however, said that due to Covid-19 pandemic, only a few selected members have been invited to attend.
These will include the CEC members; Ministers, the Manifesto Committee and the Secretariat top management among others.
During the launch, the Secretary General will highlight the party’s achievements for the last 5years, the unaccomplished works and the future programs.
