NTUNGAMO – The presidential candidate of the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT), Maj. Gen (Rtd) Mugisha Muntu, has said President Museveni missed the chance to retire peacefully and urged voters to vote him out of power.
Campaigning in Ntungamo district on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, Gen Muntu said Museveni has ruled without listening to advice of his ministers and other people in his government, creating anarchy.
“God called the President from the bush to lead the country for longtime, he had a chance to leave the presidency peacefully after stabilizing the country but failed and now that he has failed to retire himself, retire him. Retire him for Ankole to remain peaceful and the rest of the country,’’ he said.
The former army commander added that Mr Museveni has created hatred against the people of Ankole due to the bad things the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has done to Ugandans.
‘’Now Ugandans from other parts of Uganda are tired of people from Ankole. Do you know that? Why because those in leadership got drunk of power and forgot that they lead the whole country, have done things that make the rest of the people in the country to detest you,’ he said.
Gen Muntu urged people of Ntungamo district to vote him because he is trusted and committed to take the country in the right direction.
‘’People of Ntungamo do not vote for me because I come from Ntungamo, vote for me if you feel in your hearts that you can trust me because I can be trusted. I have a legacy; it is not just a matter of saying it. I have never stolen taxpayers money even when I was the army commander without systems, I did not touch money like the army commander I never got drunk with power like how some of them are now please vote me because of trust.’’
