
GENEVA – Mr Kofi Annan, former United Nations secretary-general and 2001 Nobel peace prize winner, has died, the International Organisation for Migration and several Foreign Media outlets reported on Saturday afternoon.
“Today we mourn the loss of a great man, a leader, and a visionary: former @UN Secretary General @KofiAnnan,” the UN agency wrote.
“A life well lived. A life worth celebrating,” it added.
Mr Annan, 80, is believed to have died in Switzerland on Saturday morning after a short illness, the GhanaWeb reported.
