
KAMPALA – The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is today, Thursday set to release the results of the 2019 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
The results will be released at 11 am in the Main Hall of the Kampala Parents School by Education Minister and Sports Janet Museveni.
The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) including Executive Secretary Dan Odongo together with Chairperson Prof. Mary Okwakol on Thursday, January 16, briefed Mrs. Museveni on the pupils’ performance at State House, Nakasero.
The meeting was also attended by Ms. Janet Museveni, Mr. John Chrysestom Muyingo who is the State Minister for Higher Education, Ms. Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde, who is the State Minister for Primary Education, all charged with political leadership.
Others include Mr. Alex Kakooza, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education among other technocrats.
Details of the pupils’ performance will be released to the general public today.
A total of 695,793 candidates sat for PLE, of whom 51.7% are girls.
This was also the fifth consecutive year UNEB was registering more females as compared to males.
Kalule said the results for Uganda Ordinary Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations will be released two weeks later, while those for Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) will be out by the end of February.
How do I find my PLE results?
UNEB executive secretary Dan Odongo said candidates will be able to access their examination results via mobile phones as soon as they are released.
One will be required to send a well-formatted SMS as follows: Type “PLE, UCE, UACE,” leave a space, then type index number and send it to 6600 on networks as will be specified by the board at the time of the release of the results.
There should be no spaces in the index number. For example, UCE U2769/018.
