KAMPALA —Former Kakuuto County Member of Parliament and Uganda’s Representative at East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) Mathias Kasamba ha died.
Kasamba died on Tuesday at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala where he had been hospitalised.
Kasamba has been serving as the Director of Mobilisation for the ruling National Resistance Movement.
“The NRM Secretariat regrets to announce the passing on of our colleague, Hon Mathias Kasamba, the Director of Mobilisation and Cadre Identification, and member of the East African Legislative Assembly,” said Justine Kasule Lumumba, NRM Secretary General.
She said that the party is in touch with the family and Nakasero Hospital where he had been hospitalized.
“We shall keep you posted about any future developments. May his soul rest in peace”.
The 57-year-old former legislator for Kakuuto County served in the 9th Parliament between 2001 – 2016.
He has been a member of the East African Legislative Assembly in Tanzania.
In June 2020, President Yoweri Museveni who is the national chairman for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party appointed him Director Mobilisation.
