For heaven’s sake and the sake of your own families and children, I urge you to take your children for the MR vaccination whether they were vaccinated in the past or not.
Our parents were vaccinated. They gave birth to us and we are sound.
We were vaccinated, we gave birth to our children and they are sound.
Vaccines are safe and effective. They work.
Vaccines eradicated small pox.
Vaccines have eliminated wild poliovirus.
Vaccines have eliminated Maternal and neonatal tetanus.
In Uganda, we have had these vaccines since time immemorial and we have all got them and so have our children:
- Polio
- Diphtheria
- Tetanus
- Hepatitis B
- Hemophilus Influenza
- Pertussis against whooping cough
- Measles
- BCG against TB
- Tetanus Toxoid in pregnant women with a diphtheria booster
In the recent past, we introduced:
- PCV against Pneumonia
- HPV against cervical cancer
- Rota against diarrhea
We have had several outbreaks or threats of outbreaks and conducted campaigns to prevent or respond to these outbreaks with these vaccines.
@ Polio campaigns due to threats from our neighbors Kenya and South Sudan.
@ Measles campaigns are not new.
@ Yellow fever campaigns when we get outbreaks.
@ Ebola vaccine at the border points with DRC which saved us when those ebola patients crossed over because our health workers were vaccinated.
@ Meningitis campaigns
Ebola is coming to an end in DRC because of the Ebola vaccine.
Due to continued measles outbreaks because of a low vaccination rate and unvaccinated children putting your vaccinated children at risk and because of Rubella outbreaks that lead to heart diseases and malformations in children, the country is introducing a Measles-Rubella vaccine.
It is a new vaccine like many others that have been introduced. It is used all over the world!!!!!
As you ask yourselves “why now?”, also ask yourselves “why is it now that the negative news has spread all over about vaccines yet we have had these vaccines for decades upon decades?”
The answer is SOCIAL MEDIA!!!! Let people not think for you because you know what??? These same people have had their children vaccinated and yes, yesterday, today and tomorrow, their children will be vaccinated in the schools.
A measles outbreak almost finished off Madagascar in 2018/19 with tens of thousands of children dying, is spreading like a bushfire in DRC killing more than 100 children EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Why would we want Uganda to fall in the same boat? Surely!!! Why??? Please dont allow social media to misinform you. Read!!!! Science is clear.
It is we Africans working in Africa for Africans behind these vaccines. Don’t be fooled by stories of whites and Bill Gates wanting to finish us.
We are intelligent enough to study these vaccines ourselves and know the content and yes we have studied and know them.
My children are being revaccinated, and I don’t think any of you loves my children more than I do!!!!
PLEASE GET YOUR CHILDREN VACCINATED!!!!
Don’t be the individual who is spreading these rumors please. We all have an obligation to society. Do your job.
