Amavubi Star’s head coach Antoine Hey has named his final squad that will face Uganda Cranes this weekend in the first leg of the CHAN 2018 qualifiers.
The 18-man squad includes two goalkeepers five defenders eight midfielders and three strikers. It is dominated by Rwandan Premier League giants APR who have got six players on the team, including star striker Amran Nsimiyimana.
Nsimiyimana will be joined on the striking line by AS Kigali’s Barnabe Mubumbyi and Police’s Abeddy Biramahire.
In goal, due to the suspension of Rayon Sport’s Eric Ndayishimiye after accumulation of two yellow cards in the ties against Tanzania, APR’s Yves Kimenyi and Police’s Marcel Nzarora will compete for the starting barth.
Midfielder Yannick Mukunzi of APR tipped to be the engine of the team has also been included along with team mate Djihad Bizimana.
The only notable omission on the list is APR’s Innocent Nshuti who was instrumental in the vital first leg 1-1 draw against Tanzania.
The team arrived in Uganda yesterday and will have their last training session today at the St Mary’s stadium before the show down on Saturday.
The second leg will be played on 19th of this month.
