KCCA FC goalkeeper Douglas Kisembo has completed a seasonal long loan deal to Police FC citing limited playing time at his parent club as the main reason for the switch.
Kisembo was always poised to be the one to make way at KCCA after the arrival of Jamal Maliyamungu from Maroons earlier this month.
When Jamal came it meant that the Kasasiro Boys had four goalkeepers at their disposal including Benjamin Ochan and Charles Lukwago.
Last season, when KCCA played the highest number of games in their history, Kisembo featured less compared to other goalkeepers and this must have frustrated him.
Speaking to PML Daily, Kisembo said: “I have always considered Police FC as my home because it is where I started my professional game and the possibility of coming back and getting the much needed playing time could not be resisted.”
Kisembo also said the temptation of working under Abdallah Mubiru was irresistable.
“I respect coach Mubiru and working under him is a previlege so when he called me, I responded without blinking,” he said.
Kisembo joins a list of new players at Police FC, including defender Aggry Madoi from Vipers, Gift Ali from Proline among others.
His first match at his new club may come in a friendly against Sseta United on Saturday.
Speaking to PML Daily, Coach Mubiru was quick to praise his latest addition.
“Kisembo is an excellent goalkeeper with immense experience that will be vital to our cause,” he said.
“When we lost Yasin Mugabi, we knew we had to get someone with great ability and experience and Kisembo fits well,” Mubiru said.
Mubiru also comfirmed to PML that they are to sign a new right back at the start of next week and he will be the last piece of transfer for this off season at the club.
