
FOOTBALL–Having bagged their first three points of the season before the international break, Express FC will be hoping to use that momentum to overcome a URA side desperate for goals and points.
Express defeated Maroons 2-0 at Wankulukuku in their fourth game of the tournament having lost all their first three games at the start of the season.
“It was good getting off the mark in my last home game,” said striker Daniel Sserunkuma who scored the first of the two goals against Maroons.
“It is always a good feeling finding the back of the net for a striker because it gives you the confidence in the upcoming games,” he added.
URA who have not lost to Express at Wankulukuku for more than seven years will be without midfielder Cleo Ssetuba who is still out with a fractured leg, Sam Ssekito is set to undergo a late fitness test while Ronald Kigongo who has overcome a knee injury is expected to play some part today.
“Results have not been going out way in the last few games and the football has left a lot to be desired. Said Ibrahim Kirya, URA head coach.
“We have failed to score in all our last three games but we hope all that can change against Express today.
Match facts
Both teams have managed only one win this season, scoring two goals in the four games played.
URA have lost only three of thier last 15 league games (D5 W7) with Express loosing seven in the same process.
At home, Express have been formidable, loosing only three of thier last 25 league games. (D12 W10).
URA on the other hand have won only one of thier last six away games. (D2 L3) with the solitary win coming against Police last season.
Express will be hoping to straighten there poor head to head record against URA, having defeated the tax collectors only once in the last 14 game. (D7 L6)
Express have not defeated URA at home in seven years with URA truncing the Red Eagles on two occassions in that period. URA have only failed to score once in the last 14 meetings with Express.
