FOOTBALL–Two time league defending defending champions KCCA FC have this morning unveiled six more players.
This brings to 19 the total number of players the Kasasiro boys have signed this season after they made 13 signings at the start of the first round.
This comes just less than three weeks to the second round of the the Azam Uganda premier league season.
Speaking at the unveiling, head coach Mike Mutebi was full of praise for the new recruits.
“We are trying to prepare so as we compete because one of our goals this season it to retain the league tittle and be as competitive as possible on the continent,” Mutebi said.
“We have brought in new players so as to get stronger and bring more hunger to the team. The players who have won us the last two tittles seem to be lucking the desire to win anymore but the ones we bring in are hungry for success and I am confident they can help us attain our goals,” he added.
Asked why he has gone for youth and not experience, Mutebi said young lads are eager to learn and listen unlike the more experienced ones.
He also confirmed that the new players will be travelling with the team to Kenya where they will be holding a one- and-ahalf weeks training camp.
KCCA will be travelling to Kenya on Thursday next week to play four games against Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, Sofa Paka and Tusker FC before returning in time for the second round.
