
The National Men’s Basketball team, The Silver backs will depart the country at 2:45 headed for Bamako, Mali.
It’s in Mali where they will take part in phase one of the world cup qualifiers in group B.
Group B consists of Nigeria who they play on the 23rd of February, Mali the following day and Rwanda with whom they face of with on 25th of the same month.
A total of 10 players will depart with the team and will be joined by two more to take the total to 12 as required by FIBA.
The two that are expected to join up with the team include Brandon Ssebirumbi and Stanley Ocitti who will find them in Mali.
The boys are going to be under Coaches Mandy Juruni and Nicholas Natuhwereza.
The travelling contingent will also consists of Team Manager Albert Ahabwe, two Medics (Ram Nyakana and Christopher Mbowa) and a journalist (Tuka Brian)
FUBA president Ambrose Tashobya and General Manager Mohamed Santur Ghedi will join the contingent later on.
The second and final phase will take place in June and Uganda will take on all the three sides again.
