The Stanbic Uganda Cup 2018
Semi Finals draw:
•SC Villa vs Vipers SC
•Synergy vs KCCA FC
SC Villa and Vipers will square off for the third and fourth time this season after they where drawn together in the Stanbic Uganda Cup semi finals, on Wednesday morning.
The two are part of a trio of clubs still vying fro the league title with Vipers seated on top, six points ahead of Villa (3rd) with the Jogoos having a game in hand.
The first two meetings between these two sides have all been in the league and have resulted into victories for Vipers, home and away.
However, the games have not ended well as the first leg saw Villa fans vandalize the St. Mary’s stadium along with their first choice goalkeeper Ashadu Bugembe banned for unsporting behaviour towards the referee.
Upon the sound of the final whistle in Masaka, a game Vipers won 1-0, Villa head coach Wasswa Bbosa attacked the match officials resulting into a four game ban.
With Villa using Mutessa II War Memorial Stadium in Wankulukuku as it’s home ground for the Cup games, it remains to be seen if they will resort to Masaka Recreational Grounds for the visit of vipers.
The other game of the semi finals will see last years’ winners KCCA FC square off with big league side, Synergy.

Synergy is the only lower division side left in the competition but KCCA will know that they can’t be underestimated having defeated top tier side, Mbarara City in the last round.
“Honestly the draw has been fair to us, said KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi.
“But we are not going to take Synergy for granted because they have reached here deservedly.
“For the Vipers/Villa games, what a spectacle for the fans and i hope that the two games live up to the expectation.
Synergy are aiming to become the third successive Big League side to reach the finals of the Uganda Cup after Onduparaka (2016) and Paidah Black Angles (2017).
The matches will be played on 23rd, 27th, 30th and 31st of May 2018.
The semi finals are played on home and away basis.
