CECAFA Women’s Championship 2018

Stade de Kigali, Rwanda
Saturday, 21-07-2018
The Crested Cranes will return to action in the CECAFA Women’s Championship on Saturday when they take on Ethiopia.
Having defeated Kenya 1-0 in the first game, Faridah Bulega and her girls will be hoping they can maintain their winning momentum by winning their second consecutive game.
“It is not going to be easy against Ethiopia, said Bulega ahead of the game.
“Having beaten Kenya, Ethiopia will come knowing we are a strong side and they will try to make it so difficult for us but we will be ready and after the first win, the girls will be optimistic they can win again.
This will be the first meeting between the two sides since the Ethiopians defeated Uganda 4-1 in the 2016 losers’ match in Jinja.
The other fixture today will see Kenya take on Tanzania in the late kick-off.
After Ethiopia, Uganda will then take on Tanzania on Monday in the round robin tournament before a date with Rwanda next Wednesday.
