
The crested cranes have safely arrived in Rwanda ahead of the 2018 CECAFA Women Championship that kicks off tomorrow, Thursday -19th-July-2018.
Five Countries are slated to participate in this year’s Championship which will be played on a round robin format.
The five include; hosts Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya and defending champions Tanzania who won the last edition in 2016.
The Uganda Crested Cranes are playing Kenya’s Harambe starlets in their first game tomorrow at the Stade de Kigali.
Tanzania won the last edition after edging out Kenya in the final of the tournament that was hosted by Uganda in 2016 at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
Ethiopia overcame Uganda to take third place.
The overall winner will be crowned champions of the 2018 CECAFA Women Challenge Cup.
The final squad going to play in the CECAFA tournament has also been named by the technical team .
