
Soana FC has released 6 players ahead of preparations for the 2018-19 season.
Among these are former Express players Emmanuel Kalyowa who was one time a fans’ favourite at Wankulukuku.
Kalyowa has been in and out of the team last season under both Shafick Bisaso and Alex Isabirye and has now been told to look elsewhere for playing time by new head coach Wasswa Bbosa.
For Oringa, he has had playing time scarce of late after facing unfavorable competition from Joel Mutakubwa and Meddie Kibirige.
Other players released include midfielders Osman Wejjuli and Eddie Ruhweza, center back John Muwanguzi and former KCCA right back Siraje Turyamuhebwa.
Soana also lost 3 players who moved on for greener pastures in Abdallah Nyanzi, Dalausi Kiwalabye and Muwadda Mawejje.
Mawejje (Muwadda) joined KCCA FC, Nyanzi (Abdallah) signed for URA on a 3 year deal whereas left back Dalausi Kiwalabye crossed boarders and joined Burundian side Lydia Ludic Academic.
Under the same docket, Soana has signed 3 new players in former Express captain Steven Luswata, Alex Sekabya and left back Fredrick Kigozi.
Soana who will now host league games from Buhinga grounds in Fort Portal, are now coached by former SC Villa and Express tactician Wasswa Bbosa.
They finished in a disappointing 12th spot with 32 points from 30 games last season. Soana scored a league second lowest of six goals away from home, one statistic they will be hoping to change if they are to move up the table.
