KCCA FC midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba over the weekend committed his future to the Kasasiro Boys.
The elegant attacking midfielder signed a two year deal that will see him stay at the StarTimes stadium in Lugogo upto 2020.
The new deal Mutyba signed has an option of extending his stay with the reigning Uganda cup champions for a further one basing on his performance in the next two seasons.
The former Kampala University student joined KCCA from SC Victoria University FC in 2013 and has made several appearances for the club in the past three seasons that have culminated into two league titles and as many Uganda Cups.
He has been a main stay in the team and was integral in the side that finished third in the CAF Confederations cup last year.
This year, Mutyaba has struggled with an ankle injury that has seen him miss several key fixtures including the 2-0 win over Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the second game of the CAF Champions league group stages.
He was rumored to be on his way out as an Egyptian club was pondering his signature and if reports from reliable tabloids are to be believed, his transfer fell through because of the ankle injury.
The news of his new deal will be greeted by cheers from fans that were afraid the midfielder could leave the club.
Already, Paul Mucureezi who joined the side four years ago is expected to leave the Uganda Cup holders after turning down a new deal.
The Kasasiro have already signed Sulaiman Mutyaba, Congolese import Trevor Kanyinda and defender Bernard Muwanga while Gift Ali is close to penning a deal at Lugogo.
KCCA FC finished second, four points behind Vipers in the league after failing to win their last league game away to Police FC but they compensated their top tier failures by defeating the Venoms 1-0 to retain the Uganda cup earlier this month.
