WANKULUKUKU- Ngo’s Football team eliminated defending champions Nte FC from the ongoing Bika Football tournament.
Ngo, won 1-0 at full-time to level the tie one all on aggregate before edging the defending champions 5-4 in the shoot-outs at Muteesa II Stadium at Wankulukuku.
Three time winners Nte, have won the last two editions and came into the game with a 1-0 advantage from the first leg thanks to Peter Lwasa’s goal.
Coming into the tie at the back of a 0-1 loss in the first leg, Ngo took a first half lead with Keeya Ronald on target.
Ssekyewa Joseph, Ngo’s stopper was the hero as he kept out Herbert Katongole’s spot kick to send the fans into wild celebrations.
In the last game of the day, Mamba Gabunga also needed shootouts to eliminate Ngabi Nsamba after a one all draw after full time.
The first leg had also ended 1-1.
Ngo will play Mpindi, Mamba to tussle it out with Nkima in the Quarter finals.
Meanwhile on Tuesday Nkima continued to show that they will be a hard nut to crack in this year’s Bika Football tournament.
The 1993 winners overcame Kkobe with a 2-0 victory to storm the quarter finals – The first leg, played on June 26th ended goalless.
Veteran striker Robert Ssentogo scored the opener with a tap-in before his namesake, Robert Ssentongo (Junior) doubled the lead.
In the other tie, Mpindi did not break any sweat as they eased past a 10 man Ngonge with a 3-0 victory.
Brian Majwega scored from a Keeper blunder before Ronald Mugaru and Umar Mbowa put the game away from Ngoonge’s reach.
Mpindi who progressed with a 6-1 aggregate score line, will patiently wait for a tie between Ngo.
