KAMPALA – URA FC have intensified their preparations for the upcoming Uganda premier league season with another signing in former SC Villa play-maker, Vitalis Tabu.
The tax collectors have signed the left footed winger who became a free agent after his contract with Villa expired in the off season, on a three (3) year deal.
Tabu had joined SC Villa at the start of the 2016-17 seasons from Arua based side Onduparaka FC but has found his way out of the embattled 16-time league champions.
He has previously featured Proline FC before going for a brief stint in South Sudan.
From South Sudan, Tabu joined Onduparaka FC and later Paidha Black Angels (loan) before joining SC Villa in 2016.
Tabu becomes the 12th signing of the tax collectors after the acquisition of Matthew Odongo (Tusker FC), Salim Wekiya (Masavu FC), Emmanuel Kalyowa, Yeseri Waibi (Mbarara City), Benjamin Nyakojo (Vipers), Allan Mugalu (Kyetume FC), Abdallah Nyanzi (Soana FC), Ronald Musana (Proline FC), Robert Omunuk, Joshua Kawadwa and youngster Joachim Mujera.
He also becomes the latest big name to depart Villa Park after Captain Bernard Muwanga, Godfrey Lwesibawa, John Adriko, Ramathan Dudu, Abel Eturude, Musa Mukasa, George Ssenkaaba, Mahad Yaya and Ibrahim Kiyemba all left the manager-less side.
URA FC finished distant 9th on the Uganda premier league table last season with only 37 point garnered from 30 games played.
