LUGOGO – The Uganda Cranes conducted their last training at the star times Stadium on Thursday evening ahead of their Eastern tour slated for this weekend.
Sebastien Desabre, the team coach is happy to see a number of players who have tuned up and he’s positive that the team will do well in the East.
He added that players like Yassar Mugrewa, Moses Oloya and Murushid Jjuuko are good players and their fitness levels are superb and he’s optimistic that the boys will put on a good show .
”Am very happy to see some players in the team though the fitness level is not uniform but am positive that the boys will do good on Saturday, said the Frenchman.
“I am also pleased with Mugerwa (Yasser), Moses (Oloya) and Jjuuko (Murushid) who look to be in extremely good shape.
Yassar Mugerwa as one of the fit players was happy to be called for duty again after a long spell out of the side.
“I am happy for the call and its every player’s wish to play for the national team so i am going to do the possible to put up a good performance, said Mugerwa.
18 players participated in the last training and the team is setting off on Friday morning plus none of the boys are injured.
The basis of these tour matches is keep the players (especially the local legion and those foreign based in the off-season) engaged ahead of the up-coming AFCON 2019 Group L duel against Tanzania on 8th September 2018 at Namboole stadium.
The last Cranes tour match was against Kitara and the team could only manage a 2-2 draw with Allan Kyambadde and Dan Sserunkuma on the score sheet in a thrilling encounter played under the watchful eye of hundreds of spectators two weeks ago.
