
2018 COSAFA Women’s Championships

South Africa – After a magnificent display at the just concluded CECAFA women Championship in Rwanda, the Crested Cranes will take part in another tournament next month.
This time round it will be as guests at the 2018 COSAFA Women’s Championship in South Africa.
Faridah Bulega’s charges who finished second in Rwanda have been pitted in group C along with last year’s runners ups-Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Namibia.
The hosts and defending champions South Africa will lock horns with Malawi, Madagascar and Botswana’s Lady Zebras in Group A.
In Group B, Guests Cameroon are pitted against Lesotho, Mozambique and the Zambia.
Cameroon, rated 3rd on the continent, is the highest ranked nation participating in this year’s edition.
The regional tournament consists of 12 nations divided into 3 groups of four teams each with the top team in each pool progressing to the semi finals.
The best placed runner-up across all the three groups will also make it to the semi finals.
The tournament is slated for September 12th-22nd at Port Elizabeth in South Africa.
