LUGOGO – KCCA FC have announced the signing of another player from 16 time record league champions SC Villa.
Nicholas Kasozi who has been at Villa for two years completed a move to the reigning Uganda Cup champions on Monday evening.
This was confirmed by the Kasasiro Boys through a video posted on their twitter handle like it has become the norm at the Lugogo based side of late when announcing new arrivals.
Kasozi joins former Villla captain Bernard Muwanga and midfielder Allan Kyambadde as the latest players to depart troubled Villa for eternal rivals KCCA FC in the current transfer window.
Villa has seen a massive exodus as players and technical personnel depart in the last few months; Muwanga, Godfrey Lwesibawa, Mahad Yaya, Musa Mukasa, Vitalis Tabu, John Adriko, Abel Eturude and Ibrahim Kiyemba all left for greener pastures.
It is also believed that right back Joseph Nsubuga is currently in South Africa on trials with a unnamed club and may soon become the lastest player to complete his move away from SC Villa.
Villa is a club that seems to be in shambles of late as players continue departing and management issues look miles away from being sorted after former President Ben Misagga threw in the towel.
They are also without a coach after Wasswa Bbosa’s contract expired and the fromer Express FC tactician opted for Soana FC as his new home.
The team’s goalkeeping coach, Mubarak Kiberu also joined Express FC last month.
It is still not yet clear the number of years that Kasoz has signed with the 12 time Uganda Premier League champions.
He becomes the sixth signing for Mike Mutebi and the technical team in this primary transfer window after Muwanga, Kyambadde, Gift Ali, Sulaiman “Mike” Mutyaba and Amir “Zake” Kakomo.
Kasozi joins a midfield that is already crowded with options with Isaac Kirabira, Solomon Okwalinga, Gift Ali, Muzamir Mutyaba, Allan Okello, Jackson Nunda, Allan Kyambadde, Saddam Juma and Julius Poloto, already there.
He is a player of immense quality as his elegance, ball control, passing and great positional awareness are already known to the football fraternity but he will have to work hard to get a starting spot in a team with a lot of talent already on show.
Kasozi is expected to make his debut on Saturday in the Pilsner FUFA Super 8 tournament that gets under way with KCCA FC at home to Bul FC
