Defending champions City Oilers defeated Sharing Youth 84-75 on Monday night to ensure they make it to the semifinals of the 2018 FUBA National Basketball league 2018.
Oilers’ victory was the second in two days over the Nsambya based side and ensured Monady Juruni’s side sweep their counterparts 2-0 in the best of three series. The five time defending champions won game one 81-69 on Saturday.
Oilers dominated almost the entirety of game two, winning the first three quarter 27-24, 17-13 and 19 16.
Sharing tried to come back late, winning the fourth 22-21 but it was more of Oilers seeing out the game.
Sharing’s Ceaser Kizito top scored on the night with 21 points, adding six rebounds and four assists to his game but it was not enough for his side to force game three. Emmanuel Okumu (11) and Mopele Baraka (17) are the others who reached double figures in terms of points for the Nsambya based side.
For Oilers, they also had three players reach double figures in terms of points, Captain Jimmy Enabu led the way with 20, Landrey Ndikumana (13) and Josh Johnson (10).
In the other game, Judith Nansobya top scored on the night (18) as her KCCA side defeated Angels 77-43 to reach the Women’s semifinals.
Christine Akinyi (11), Joy Chemutai (15) and Sylvia Nakazibwe (14) are the others who reached double figures for KCCA.
For Angels, Irene Nalunkuma (11) and Patricia Nakiru (10) reached double figures in terms of points in the losing effort.
