AFCON Beach Soccer Qualifiers
Ivory Coast vs Uganda (Ivory Coast leads 3-1 from the first leg)
Abidjan, Ivory Coast
Friday, 21-09-2018
As the Sand Cranes prepare to travel to Ivory Coast for the return leg of their Beach Soccer AFCON qualifiers, the team’s chances of progression have been dealt a huge blow.
Trailing 3-1 after a home loss just over a week ago, the Cranes who hope to wipe out Ivory Coast’s advantage will have to do so without the services captain Somoka Rich.
Somoka suffered an injury in yesterday’s (Tuesday) training session, one which has forced him out of the vital game on Friday.
The rest of the team is in good condition and will travel to Abidjan on Wednesday.
The Sand Cranes lost 3-1 at Speneh-Entebbe in the first leg on 9th September and will be hoping to overturn the deficit.
If somehow they manage to overcome Ivory Coast, they will qualify for the 2018 AFCON Beach Soccer tournament in Cairo, Egypt.
