SC Villa vs URA FC
Mandela National Stadium, Namboole
Tuesday, 30-10-2018 @04:00pm
NAMBOOLE – SC Villa will be on the hunt for a season’s first victory when they host URA FC at the Mandela National stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
Moses Basena’s 16 time record league champions have endured a frustrating start to the 2018/19 campaign, losing two of their first four games and sitting second from bottom of the 16 team log.
In their last league game, the Jogoos were subjected to a 3-1 home loss at the hands of reigning champions, Vipers SC, in a game that Villa lead at some point.
Aside from the defeat to Vipers, Basen’s side has also lost to Onduparaka at home whilst drawing the other two game (2-2 vs Kirinya and 0-0 vs Bright Stars).
Their hunt for victory however, pits them with a URA side that is still unbeaten in the league and also shares the same home ground with them (Villa).
The Tax Collectors are riding high in fourth after winning two and drawing as many from their opening four games.
In the last game, Sam Simbwa’s side had to come from a goal down to salvage a draw away to Maroons.
Vitalis Tabu who was at Villa last season will have a chance to take on his former employers and will be key after making a bright start to life with the Tax Collectors.
The winger has already bagged two goals and an assist in his first two games and Simbwa will be hoping he is in red-hot form on Tuesday.
Match Stats:
SC Villa have managed only two points from their first four games while URA have eight from the same number of fixtures.
This will be the 17th meeting between the two sides since 2010 with Villa winning only four games in that period (D6 L6).
However, the Jogoos go into the fixtures on a four game unbeaten run against URA (W2 D2). The last time URA defeated Villa was on 15th May 2016 in a 3-0 home victory.
URA has gone four games minus a win over Villa away from home. The last time Simbwa’s men won an away fixture at Villa was in September 2013.
Villa go into the game in terrible form having not won any of their last 10 league and cup games (D5 L5). Their last competitive victory was in a 2-0 home defeat of Kirinya JSS on 02-May-2018.
At home, the record champions have lost all their last three league games, conceding five and scoring only a single goal in the process.
For URA, they go into the fixture unbeaten in their last eight league games, winning three and drawing five. The last time they lost a league games was in the 7-2 humiliation away to KCCA on 24-04-2018.
However, their away form has not been impressive at all, winning only one of their last 10 league games (2-1 at Proline). In that period, they have lost five games and drawn the other four.
