
International security expert Okello Dixon will fly out on Monday afternoon for the FIFA Safety and Security Officers training and assessment workshop.
Okello will be at the Home of FIFA (HoF), FIFA-Strasse20 in Zurich-Switzerland for the workshop to be conducted from 17th-19th October.
“We are glad that Ugandans are being recognized and considered for such opportunities that improve the organisation of our events after the training sessions, Said FUFA Communications Manager, Ahmed Hussien about Okello’s upcoming workshop.
“We believe that Okello will bring back the knowledge acquired from Zurich to pass on to the local security team which is deployed at football events in Uganda.
Okello who has been at various sporting events as security officer including the FIFA World Cup (2010 South Africa), Olympic Games in London (2012) and most recently at the AFCON 2017 as Team Uganda’s head of security.
He has also been on CAF duties in the Champions League matches involving Al Ahly of Egypt and Horoya AC of Guinea.
