
KAMPALA – The URA FC Board has appointed Ivan Kakembo as the new CEO of URA FC.
Kakembo who was previously at SC Villa in similar capacity under the leadership of Ben Misaga, replaces Edward Kulubya who resigned at the start of September.
Kulubya had served as URA FC CEO for four years but had to relinquish his role in order to continue with his education.
Kakembo has been handed a one year renewable contract effective 1st November 2018.
Speaking at his unveiling, Kakembo expressed his delight that he is joining the Tax Collectors And promised to make the club better.
“I am so happy to join URA FC as a club and being under URA as an institution is a great honor, said Kakembo.
“I’m so confident because I come here with great expertise in football management both locally and internationally which I believe will give us as a club an edge in Ugandan football today.
“I expect to lobby for the club’s growth and also deliver a new brand of URA FC and ensure that the success of the club is unmatched.
The Chairman URA FC Mr. Kizza James promised support to the new CEO and he emphasized that the CEO has been thoroughly selected and the board is convinced that Ivan is the right man for the job.
He also noted that the CEO has been tasked to turn the club into a bigger football brand both locally and internationally.
The club also unveiled the official medical sponsors and this is St. Catherine Hospital who will be partnering with URA FC to provide medical insurance cover for URA FC players, URA FC staff and their dependents to ensure that the team is healthy.

URA FC is currently enjoying a four game unbeaten start to the 2018/19 season.
The Tax Collectors are currently in fourth having won two and drawn as many games.
Their next fixture will be away to SC Villa at the Mandela National Stadium on Tuesday, 30th November.
