ENTEBBE – The Uganda Cranes delegation to Lesotho for the return leg of the 2019 AFCON Group L qualifier has set off on Sunday morning.
The 70 man delegation including 24 players, departed the country aboard a chartered flight facilitated by the head of state, President Yoweri Museveni Kaguta.
Murushid Jjuuko who was suspended for Saturday’s 3-0 defeat of Lesotho has also travelled and is expected to start at centre half.
FUFA Executive committee member Richard Ochom led the delegation that also has the FA boss Moses Magogo, technical staff, FUFA Executive Committee members, FUFA delegates, National Council of Sports officials, members of parliament, other Government officials and some fans.
“We expect a good performance in the game because we had good preparations for this match. Said Ochom.
“Let us pray for the best of expectations since our target is qualification to the AFCON tournament in Cameroon.
The group is expected to arrive in Maseru at around noon (local time).
Uganda Cranes faces Lesotho next Tuesday at the Setsoto stadium in the return tie of the double header.
The defeated the Lesotho 3-0 on Saturday thanks to Emmanuel Okwi’s double and Farooq Miya’s penalty.
Uganda leads the standing in Group L with seven points, Cape Verde are second on four will Lesotho and Tanzania each have two points.
The other game in Group L will see Tanzania host Cape Verde on the same day.
