-Vipers SC vs Nyamityobora FC-Kitende @04:00pm
-Mbarara City vs Maroons FC-Kavumba @04:30pm
Reigning Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC will have a chance of regaining top spot when they welcome another new league entrant, Nyamityobora FC at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
The Venoms are still enjoying a 100% record in the league having defeated debutants Ndejje 1-0 and Maroons FC 2-1 in their opening two fixtures but are now seated third on the log following KCCA and URA victories in their respective fixtures on Friday.
With the Kasasiro Boys and Tax Collectors now on seven points each, a win for Vipers will take them to nine points on the table.
The home side will be welcoming back Captain Tadeo Lwanga and Moses Waiswa from national team duty.
Having featured prominently for the national team, it remains to be seen whether Waiswa will feature in Saturday’s game or be granted a rest.
Their visitors, Nyamityobora will have all to worry about as they have lost both of their opening two games including one they threw away a two goal lead to end up on the losing side (3-2) at home to Bright Stars last time out.
Nyamityobora are set to be without goalkeeper Franco Oringa and Captain Henry Wamala who were accused of match fixing and thus suspended by the club.
They will however seek inspiration from the former Onduparaka duo of Moses Ndawula and John Wesley Kisakye, Muhammed Iga, Ibrahim Pengere, Charles Musige, Cameroonian defender Calvin Barni as well as former Vipers’ left back Alex Komakech.
This will be the first top flight meeting between the two sides.
In Kavumba, Mbarara city will host a Maroons side that is yet to register a point this season despite scoring in all their first two games.
The Luzira based sides went down 3-1 in their opener away to Bright Stars before losing 2-1 at home to Vipers in their last outing.
For Mbarara, they should be full of confidence after a 3-1 victory over Express FC in their last league game. The victory over the Red Eagles produced the Ankole Lions’ first points of the season having gone down 1-0 away to Ndejje in their league opener.

This will be the third top flight meeting between the two sides but worryingly for the home side, they have not won any of the past two games.
The reverse fixture last season ended in a 2-1 win for Maroons having drawn 0-0 in the first leg at Luzira.
