NAMBOOLE – URA FC will be hoping to go six matches unbeaten at the start of the 2018/19 Uganda Premier League season when they host Nyamityobora on Friday afternoon.
The Tax Collectors have had a fairly good start to the league this season, winning two and drawing three of their first five games.
However, Sam Simbw’s side are currently on a two game winless run as they have draw 1-1 against Maroons and 0-0 away to SC Villa in their last two fixtures.
Their main concern going into the game should be the fact that they are not scoring enough goals.
The Tax scored only four goals in their first five games which falls below average. However, they have been defending well, conceding only one goal and non coming at Namboole.
Going into the game, The Tax Collectors have no major injury worries and will be banking on top scorer-Vitalis Tabu to try see them over the huddle.
For Nyamityobora, they are in desperate need to start accumulating points as soon as possible if they are to avoid dropping back into the Big League on the first time of asking.
James Odoch’s charges have lost a league high four games already this season including a 2-1 loss at home to Police in the last games.
Captain Henry Wamala is still out serving an internal suspension and it is still not clear when he will return.
However, Nigerian Center-back Calvin Barni Tar returns after overcoming an injury that forced him out of the Police game on Tuesday.
Match Facts:
This will be the first ever top flight meeting between the two sides.
This will be URA’s third match against the newly promoted sides. The Tax Collectors have won the other two, 2-0 vs Paidah and 1-0 against Ndejje University.
Sam Simbwa’s side are currently on a nine match unbeaten run which dates back to last season (W3 D6). Their last league defeat was in the 7-2 humiliation at the hands of KCCA in April.
At home, they have also been fairly impressive, winning five of their last nine games (D3 L1).
For Nyamityobora, they go into the game having won only one of their first five games in the top flight. All the others have culminated into defeats.
Odoch’s side have conceded a joint second league high of 9 goals (level with Police Fc ). Only Maroons (10) Have conceded more goals than Nyamityobora.
Nyamityobora will be attempting to gather their first point of the season away from home after losing both of their first two.
