TANZANIA – The 2018 East African Games opening day saw Ugandan teams walk away with wins all coming against Kenyan and Tanzanian counter-parts.
Vipers SC Steven “Desse” Mukwala scored a brace as Kampala University defeated University of Dar-er-salaam 4-0 in football. Ibrahim Mugalusi and Omwirano Brian scored the other two goals.
Kyambogo University ladies Football team humbled United States International University from Kenya 3-0.
Makerere University Business School drew 0-0 with compatriots IUIU in the other football game played on Opening day while MUBS Table Tennis and Volleyball teams thrashed every opponent came across them.
In Basketball, Ndejje University thumped Kampala University 68-25 in the opening game.
Later in the evening, UCU volleyball had an unfinished game due to time discredit hence postponed to the next day (Tuesday).
Swimming, Athletics, Tennis, Woodball, are all games in waiting as they have not yet kicked off in today’s opening games.
Kampala University ladies (football) are set to play UCU Cardinal Ladies on Tuesday.
