KAMPALA – On Thursday, Jean Sseninde, a Ugandan Professional footballer plying her trade in the UK, held a Workshop aimed at developing the Women’s game.
The Workshop that was dubbed ‘Jean Sseninde Women Football Development ‘ was held at Mackinon Suites in Kampala.

During the event, Owekitiibwa, Charles Peter Mayiga humbly applauded the good deeds of Sseninde towards developing Women football in Uganda.
“It’s not easy to find such an International Ugandan Footballer in England, said Owekitibwa Mayiga.
“Above all with confidence and open mind of loving her motherland Uganda.
“It takes a strong mindset to take on such activities.
Meanwhile, Express FC Chairman, Kiwanuka Kiryowa who was also among the panelists expressed his desire to own a women’s team by 2021 as a way of helping develop the game.
“We plan to have a ladies team by 2021, Kiwanuka told the participants of Sseninde Workshop at Mackinon Suites yesterday,
“At the moment, we are still bringing back fans to the stadium at the same time stabilising our senior male team and Juniour team. Once those two are stable, nothing will deny us from opening up a women team at Wankulukuku.”
“We need to have a structured flow of performing tasks.” We need to bring back women into the game by creating such a team.
“We shall take our time, no need to rush.
“Everything has a beginning and our team will be an eye opener to other clubs too to learn from us.
Sseninde foundation workshop also included other panelists, Ayub Khalifan (Kawempe Muslim), Jackie Tahakanizibea (Post Bank), Patrick Kanyomozi (USPA President) and Usher Komugisha (Moderator).
Currently Uganda has the FUFA Elite League that is ongoing. On addition is the Women Uganda Cup that was introduced by the Federation of Ugandan Football, 2 years back.
