
KAMPALA – StarTimes Uganda Premier League top scorer Juma Balinya has been excluded from the players who will feature for Uganda against Tanzania on Sunday.
The Police FC striker who has scored an impressive 16 goals this season has been a shock exclusion from the list of 10 locally based players who will travel to Egypt on Sunday.
The list of players that was announced on Saturday night, hours after thhe Cranes defeated Kampala Select 4-0 at Lugogo, also does not include last season’s League top scorer Dan Sserunkuma.
Sserunkuma who has scored 9 goals for his side Vipers SC this season, scored two of Uganda’s goals on Saturday.
However, his teammate, Halid Lwaliwa makes the cut after impressing in both training an on Saturday.
As expected, the duo of Hassan Wasswa and Godfrey Walusimbi have also been named on the team that will depart the country on Sunday.
The other 7 are Timothy Awany (KCCA), Tadeo Lwanga (Vipers), Sadam Juma (KCCA), Moses Waiswa (Vipers), Allan Kyambadde (KCCA, Uganda), Allan Okello and Henry Patrick Kaddu (KCCA).
“We had a good trial match against Kampala Select, said the Frenchman.
“It summarised the week of training we had with the players who are home based.

“It was a great match and we tested the players before flying out to Egypt for the final trainig camp in Ismaily.
“We expect the other players to join us there and we shall play a trail game on Wednesay for our final preparations.
The 10 will depart Entebbe International Airport on Sunday at 6 PM aboard Ethiopian Airlines.
They will join the 14 foreign based players in Egypt as the team prepares for its final game in Dar es salaam on Sunday, 24th March 2019.
Speaking after Saturday’s game, Cranes head coach Sebastian Desabre said that the local-based players were trst well before the Egypt camp.
