
LUGOGO – The Cranes on Thursday March 14 conducted their first training session with all the 31 expected local players available.
Police FC’ Juma Balinya and Paul Willa were the last players to report for duty and trained with the rest of the team at Lugogo ahead of their last group encounter with Tanzania.
Speaking to PML Daily, SC Villa’s forward Bashir Mutanda said he’s working hard to remain on the selected squad of nine players as coach Sebastian Desabre is about to trim the team.
“Am working hard to see that the head coach [Sebastian Desabre] selects me to be among the squad that will face Tanzania” said Mr. Mutanda
The forward added that he takes the national call as an opportunity to prove his competence.
“I think I will remain because am working hard,” he said adding; “am doing my best to impress the coach so that I can remain on the selected nine.
Uganda Cranes will have a trail match on Saturday, March 16 against Kampala Select team at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo where the head coach will decide on which players will make it to Egypt to join the foreign based players.

The encounter Group L second places team will be their final group game having already qualified for the finals in Egypt, later this year.
