KAMPALA – Official communication confirms that JKL Dolphins have sealed the capture of Daniel Monoja aka ‘Dudus’.
Dudus who features for the Uganda 3*3 National team is understood to have signed a two year deal with JKL from fellow National Basketball league side Our Saviour.
He becomes their second signing in under a week after they also signed Bernard Okumu from UPDF Tomahawks a few days ago.
Speaking after his move, Dudus informed that the decision to sign for JKL was as simple as they get.
“I was impressed by the management’s philosophy so the decision to sign was not a hard one, said Dudus.
“I would love to contribute to JKL moving a step forward from where they finished last year.
Dudus who can also play as a Center started playing basketball at high school level, representing St. Lawrence-Paris Palais and Greenhill Academy.
After his high school, he joined UPDF Tomahawks in the D-League, helping them to promotion to Division One that very year.
In 2014, he joined Makerere University whom he represented at the annual Zuku University Basketball Champions. While still there, Dudus was also part of the University 3*3 team that played at the FASU Championships in South Africa (2016) and Nairobi (2017).
In 2015, he once again helped UPDF Tomahawks to promotion from Division one to the National Basketball league.
He switched to Our Saviour after helping UPDF reach the NBL playoffs in 2016.
Dudus is expected to make his debut on Sunday, 14-04-2019, when JKL Dolphins take on Our Saviour in their League opener at the MTN Arena, Lugogo.
