Uganda vs Lesotho
LUGOGO – The Uganda Cranes team that is set to take part in the 2019 COSAFA cup has on Tuesday, 14th May, conducted their first training session.
Under the guidance of Police FC head coach Abdallah Mubiru, the team went through a 2 hour session at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.
Mubiru who is standing in for Cranes tactician Sebastian Desabre had to start his preparations with several players absent.
All the KCCA FC players who were summoned did not take part of Tuesday’s session as they were taking part in their club’s trophy tour.
“We did not have any of the KCCA FC player present because they were taking part in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League trophy parade, said Abdallah Mubiru after the training.
“It was a situation we could not avoid as it is something they worked hard for all season with their club.
“However, we are expecting them to join us as soon as possible.

The KCCA players who were absent include left-back Mustapha Kizza, playmaker Muzamir Mutyaba, Hassan Musana, Nicholas Kasozi and Filbert Obenchan.
Dan Sserunkuma who was called in by the senior side who are currently in residential camp at the Kabira Country club, was also absent.
The team has officially entered residential camp and will be accommodated at Sky Hotel. They will continue preparations on Wednesday morning.
Uganda was invited to take part in this year’s COSAFA competition that runs from May 20th to June 6th as the guest Nation.
However, they will not feature in the Group stages but will rather start at the quarter final stage.
In the Last 8, the Cranes will take on Lesotho, one of the other five nations that will also not be part of the Groups.
To complete the squad, some players from the initial preliminary AFCON Squad will be considered for COSAFA tournament if they don’t travel to the United Arab Emirates.
