LUGOGO – The Big League regular season is now behind us, having climaxed exactly 7 days today, last week.
Proline FC and Wakiso Giants FC confirmed their promotion to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after winning both the Rwenzori and Elgon Groups respectively.
As the two sides prepare to face off in the final game of the division, to determine the overall winner, four sides will start their journey to sealing the final promotion spot.
Kyetume, Dove FC, Kansai Plascon and UPDF, will be the sides that seek to join Proline and Wakiso in the top flight next season.
On Thursday, all will be in action at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo, playing the semi finals.
Kyetume, who finished runners up in the Elgon group, take on Dove FC in the opening game of the day.
Kyetume head into the playoffs and the game as slight favourites.
With the technical team of Jackson Mayanja and Allan Kabonge at the helm, Kyetume have loads of experience at the touchline.
Both coaches have in the past proved their worth in the division and the Kyetume faithful will be confident.
“This is my game and everyone in the country knows that, said Kabonge ahead of the game against Dove.
“I have taken a number of top flight teams into the top tier and i am not going to stop anytime soon.
“We are going to first take care of Doves before completing the job on Saturday.
Kabonge is one of the Big League’s most celebrated coaches, having led Aurum Roses, Onduparaka, Masavu and lately Paidha Black Angels to promotion.

His partner Mayanja has also ever achieved the same feet, overseeing URA’s rise from the Regional League into the top flight, back in the years.
The two coaches also have a host of experienced players to bank on so as to execute their aspirations.
In the likes of Robert Ssentongo, Vincent Kayizi, Owen Kasule and Patrick Ochan, Kyetume have a core that has previously been top flight main stays at some point.
Ssentongo who is a multiple top flight top scorer will be the main player for Kyetume.
For Doves, all their trust and hope sits in head coach Twinamatsiko.
The tactician was responsible for leading the now defunct Saints to the Top flight.
Having finished third in the Rwenzori Group, Dove will feel like slight outsiders starting with the contest against Kyetume but in Bright Haguma, Robert Kyamanywa and Johnson Tusubira, they poses for the much-desired inspiration.
The second semi-final will be played between Kansai Plascon and UPDF FC at 4pm.
Veteran coach Angelo Lonyesi is at the helm for Kansai who finished 2nd in the Rwenzori Group while Steven Bogere is in charge of UPDF.
Kansai are banking on the duo of Allan Oryek and Robert Ssentongo.
For UPDF, Fred Umony, Amis Muwonge and Robert Ssaka are the players who will have to bee in fine tune if the army side is to reach the top tier.
The winners in the two semi finals’ games will take on one another in the final game on Saturday, for a place in the top tier.
