KAMPALA – Two months after taking over as the Uganda U17 National football team head coach, Fabin Kwesi has thrown in the towel.
The Ghanaian tactician is understood to have terminated his contract with the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) due to family reasons.
“FUFA is happy with the work done by Mr. Kwasi in the period he has been in Uganda, read a statement on FUFA’s official website.
“However a request by the coach to go and handle family matters back home thus not able to continue with the job, saw the Executive consented to his request.
Kwasi took over the head coach role at the Cubs on March 20th and has been in charge for exactly 62 days.
He was at the helm as the Cubs featured in the just concluded U17 AFCON championship in Tanzania where they were eliminated at the group stages.
At the tournament, Uganda finished third in Group A with 4 points thus failing to reach the Semifinals of the competition, a round that would have seen the cubs storm a first ever World Cup.
