
ENTEBBE – The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has received the final bunch of the money they were promised by the Government of Uganda.
Having received three bunches earlier, FUFA were given the final UGX 4.7b on Thursday.
The UGX 4.9b is the 4th installment of the UGX 9.4b that was promised by the Government to the Federation for the financial year 2018/19.
Upon receiving confirmation that the money had been released by Government, FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo thanked everyone who played a role in ensuring the money reaches FUFA.
“I thank HE President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Mama Janet Museveni, Ministry of Finance, Minister of State for Sports Hon. Charles Bakkabulindi, National Council of Sports and various Government organs for playing a key role in the release of the funds. said Magogo.
‘We are glad to receive this timely support from Government as two National teams are already in camp preparing for international tournaments due next month.
Currently, two National teams are preparing to take part in two different tournaments.
One which is under Police FC tactician Abdallah Mubiru, is preparing to feature in the 2019 COSAFA Cup in Durban, South Africa.
They are slated to depart the country on Wednesday, May 29th. Their first game will be against Lesotho in the quarter finals.

The other team which is camped at Kabira Country club under the stewardship of Sebastien Desabre, are preparing for the 2019 AFCON finals in Egypt.
They will depart the country on Sunday, May 26th for another camp in Abu Dhabi.
From their, they are expected to head to Ivory Coast for the third and final camp before they head to Egypt.
These funds from Government will be used to boost preparations for both teams and settlement of arrears attached to the National Senior team engagements.
