MENGO – Yeak Kabowa are edging ever closer to a first Futsal Super League crown.
The Kabowa based side made a giant stride towards becoming champions on Thursday night, defeating Crown 2-1 in a hotly contested encounter.
The leaders who would later see Salim Gavamukulya sent off, took the lead through Andrew Kayanja.
However, Crown who are always a hard nut to crack levelled matters before the break thanks to Ahmed Abdihakim.
In the second period, Shaffic Avemah scored a second for Yeak to ensure they earn three more points.
The points secured on Thursday, see Yeak march onto 54, six ahead of second placed Park with just four games to play.
For Park, they will have themselves to blame after letting a 3-1 lead slip as they were held to a 5-5 draw by comeback kings, Bajim.

Park were in ascendance at the break as they lead 3-1 thanks to an Iddi Babu double and Joshua Aziku goal.
However, Bajim came back, like they have done all season with four second half goals whilst conceding just two to draw 5-5 in the end.
Ibrahim Kamya *2, Isaac Kiberu and Titus Ssematimba scored Bajim’s second half goals while Francis Matunga and Aziku were on target for Park.
Park now move onto 48 points for the season while Bajim who are in 6th have 36.
In the game involving defending champions Dream, they ran out 3-2 winners over Elephants in the opening game of the day.
Peter Kikomeko and Kiseka Ali ensured Dream who conceded only a Swaleh Hassan goal, led 2-1 by the break.
In the second half, either side struck once as Dream ran out victors.
Elephants scored both of the second half goals as Swaleh added his second of the night but the other was put through his own net by Eric Wagana.
The win which is Dream’s second in as many games, sees them climb into 4th on the standings with 38 points.

For Elephants, they remain 12th with 14 points.
In the other day’s games, Equator defeated Typhoon 3-1, Mengo City were 7-1 winners over Kabowa United, Aidenal downed Parakeets 3-1 while Nomad walloped Yap Stars 5-0.
