KAMPALA – Mbarara FC head coach Livingstone Mbabazi has had a fantastic season 2018/19.
The former Uganda Cranes midfielder led the Ankole Lions to a 5th place finish in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League following a disastrous 2017/18 in which the team spent most of the season fighting relegation.
Mbabazi’s efforts have not gone unnoticed and he has been added to the COSAFA bound Uganda Cranes’ technical team.
The tactician will deputize stand-in coach Abdalla Mubiru in the tournament that will take place in Durban, South Africa.
Uganda’s COSAFA bound team has been undergoing training for the last one week or so and have already played two build up games.
The first was a 1-1 draw against the AFCON bound Cranes before defeating Western Region select side 1-0 in the Regional tour this past Sunday.

Uganda was invited to take part in this year’s COSAFA competition that runs from May 20th to June 6th, as the guest Nation.
However, they will not feature in the Group stages but will rather start at the quarter final stage.
In the Last 8, the Cranes will take on Lesotho, one of the other five nations that will also not be part of the Groups.
