LUGOGO – The Uganda Volleyball Women’s National team’s bid to reach the All Africa Games ended in miserable fashion.
The Volleyball She Cranes lost in straight sets to Kenya in their third game of the qualifiers at the MTN Arena on Tuesday evening.
Kenya who are the number one seed on the continent cruised to a 3-1 set win on the night, their third victory in the three day mini tournament.
Led by Captain Mercy Moim, the Malkia Stars edged the first set 25-17.
In the second, they overcame Uganda 25-17 before cruising to a 25-16 victory in the final set.
Having defeated both Rwanda and Ethiopia in the first two games, Kenya sealed a spot at the 2019 All Africa Games.
For Uganda, they could only manage second with two victories while Rwanda finished third following a 3-0 win over Ethiopia on Tuesday night.

The prestigious 12th edition will take place in August 19-22, 2019 in Rabat, Morocco.
About the 2019 All Africa Games
The 12th African Games will take place from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. This will be the first time that the African Games to be hosted by Morocco.
The 12th African Games will schedule on September 2019. Accra, Nairobi and Lusaka announced that they will put in a bid for this edition, but none of them were selected.
But from 13 to 17 June 2016, at the headquarters of the African Union, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the Second Ordinary Session of the Specialist Technical Committee on Youth, Culture and Sports took place, at which the Equatorial Guinea candidacy to organise the 2019 African Games was approved.
Due to economic problems Malabo gave back the right to host the tournament. Lusaka, the capital of Zambia was later speculated to host the Games but refused, citing lack of facilities. In July 2018, Rabat, Morocco was selected to replace Malabo, Equatorial Guinea as host the 2019 edition.
