
KAYUNGA – Ruparelia Group Managing Director turned rally driver Rajiv Ruparelia has on Sunday June 23, won the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) 2019 Autocross event in Kayunga, on his second competitive event.
Rajiv and his co-driver Ronnie Walia came first in their Vw Polo car at a time of 05:18.5.
In the second place were Ponsiano Lwakataka and his co-driver Samuel Mugisha in their Subaru Impreza. Ronald Ssenuguzi and Leone Ssenyange came third.
It marks an impressive second outing for Rajiv; who is rallying under his ‘RR – Double Trouble’ team and cruising his newly launched VW Polo Proto, imported from Poland.

In his debut rally last month, Rajiv as he is popularly known finished second after clocking a record time of 10:44 minutes during the Enduro Autocross Championship 2019 that took place in Zion Estates, Ssisa.
Over fifteen crews participated in the championship.

In April this year, Rajiv joined Rallystar Academy in South Africa for a specialised rally training. He was trained by Africa’s number one trainer Leone Botha.
Navigated by Ronnie Walia, Rajiv’s team RR – ‘Double Trouble’ is managed by veteran rally driver Dipu Rupareria while Mike Mwangi is the Chief Mechanic.
