KITENDE – Vipers SC seem to be busy trying to lure players to Kitende in this offseason.
Following the news that the Venoms have tabled a bid for URA FC captain, Shafick Kagimu, it is now understood that they are in talks with Onduparaka FC over the signing of Rashid Toha.
Toha who is also the skipper of Onduparaka FC still has one and a half years left on his current deal but is believed to be seeking a move elsewhere.
PML Daily understands that negotiations between the two parties are going on as planned and the lanky center back may as early as next week, be a Venom.
“We are closing in on a deal currently as everything is going to plan. Narrated one of the key figures in the deal.
“I am not certain on when everything will be completed but all i can say is, soon.
Toha has been with Onduparaka ever since the Arua based side attained promotion to the top tier in 2016.
He was named the captain of the side following the departure of striker Shaban Muhammad to KCCA FC.
He along with Gadaffi Gadinho have been favourites at the Green Light Stadium. Gadaffi has already left and signed for Mbarara City in the off-season and it looks like Toha is also on his way out.

For Vipers, this will be a major step in the right direction as they bid to resurrect from a below-par season, last.
The Venoms who came into last season as the defending league champions and finalist in the Uganda Cup, could not replicate such form.
Representing Uganda in the CAF Champions league, the Venoms were eliminated at the second round of qualification and hence dropped to the Confederation Cup. While there, they also failed to make it to the Group stages as they fell immediately.
In the League, they came second to KCCA FC while a humiliating exit to then-Big League side, Proline FC, ended their Uganda Cup campaign at the quarter-final stage.
After such a disappointing season, the Kitende based side are expected to strengthen their playing staff like they always do.
The Venoms have already acquired the services of Paul Willa who they signed from Police FC at the start of the week.
In strengthening their squad, Vipers are also expected to let go of several players. The likes of Duncan Seninde, Tom Masiko, Henry Katongole, Ibrahim Kiyemba, Paul Kalumba, Yayo Lutimba, Fred Okot, Joseph Janjali, and Rahmat Ssenfuka, have all failed to live up to the billing and are believed to be on their way out.
