KAMPALA – Tooro United have sealed a deal to sign former Sand Cranes and Express FC midfielder Derrick Tekwo.
Tekwo whose contract at Big League side Kitara expired at the end of the 2018/19 season and is understood to be joining Wasswa Bbosa’s side as a free agent.
He previously featured for Express FC, Kira Young, Kitara FC and URA FC, and will be signing a one year deal that ends at the back-end of next season.
The combative-midfielder joins Denis Mugerwa and Gerald Lule from (Water FC), and Charles Musige (Nyamityobora FC) as the latest arrivals at Tooro United as they bid to better their best performance in the top flight, last season.
Tooro finished 4th last season with 49 points.
In other news, KCCA FC have allowed custodian Tom Ikara join Mbarara City.
The former Kirinya JSS shot-stopper will join the Ankole Lions on a season-long deal.

According to Swift Sports, Mbarara City have been searching for a goalkeeper in the ongoing transfer window, not until Friday when Ikara was acquired.
Ikara fills the void left by Ali Kimera who was suspended and later released by the Ankole Lions in the final bend of the previous campaign.
Mbarara City had previously expressed interest in URA’s James Alitho and out of contract Hannington Sebwalunyo but couldn’t reach a compromise with either player.
At KCCA, Ikara has been limited to playing time acting as second fiddle to first-choice Charles Lukwago.
Ikara burst to the scene as the best goalkeeper of the 2015-16 FUFA Big League season.
He garnered two nominations in his debut top-flight season (2016-17) having kept 13 clean sheets but lost both accolades to Ismail Watenga (best goalkeeper) and Allan Okello (best young player).
In January last year, Ikara completed a move to KCCA from Kirinya Jinja SS on a three year deal.
He is expected to take up shirt number one at Mbarara City who seek to replicate their splendid performance of last season that saw them finish fifth on the log.
Mbarara City will thereafter add Hippos’ starlet Denis Otim to their goalkeeping department that also has Muhammad Ssekaba as the second choice option.
Ikara becomes the Mbarara City’s fourth signing after former Onduparaka duo Gadaffi Gadinho and Solomon Okwalinga and Katwe United’s lanky center back Bashir Muweesi.
